Sheephill Quarry has been providing quarried whinstone, a form of basalt, for over 40 years. There is a future reserve and planning consent to continue for more than 30 years at Sheephill.
We can provide anything from armour stone to whindust, and all sizes in between – some of our most popular quarry products are:
All stone is to Highway specification.
We can also supply recycled aggregates and subsoil.
Presently we have one operational landfill site at Riggangower with consent for inert materials. We collect materials from your site with our fleet of tippers. Due to the fact that our landfill site is a restoration of a former quarry landfill tax does not apply.
Our landfill site is licensed by S.E.P.A. with a current P.P.C. and we operate with our own waste carriers license.
We also recycle some materials at our landfill site such as soils and aggregate.
Our landfill and Quarry operations are next to each other so we can provide a very efficient stone in and muck off service.
To support your construction projects we offer a range of plant for hire, from JCBs to 20-tonne excavators, dozers and wheel shovels. Our machinery is well maintained and of a high quality, and is suitable for most construction sites or bulk muckshifting operations. Machines are available supplied with one of our qualified operators – each of whom is highly experienced in site work and holds a current CPCS certification.
Our fleet of Scania lorries operate from our head office at Birch Road, Dumbarton. Our tipper lorries are manufactured to our own high specification, and are fully equipped in order to quickly and efficiently deliver our quarried products to sites, or collect and transport inert materials to our landfill site.
The fleet includes six-wheeled and eight-wheeled tippers, allowing us flexibility in both carrying capacity and maneuverability on tight sites. Tipping lorries are available for hire on an hourly basis or a rate per load. All waste is carried under the conditions of our waste carrier’s licence.
